Organic Social Media FAQs

How we turn your team’s real-world expertise into authentic content that builds trust and keeps your pipeline full.

Social Media for Contractors Isn’t About Going Viral — It’s About Being Real

Most contractors either ignore social media or post a random job photo once a month. The truth is, social media works for contractors when the content is authentic, consistent, and strategic. Homeowners are on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn every day, forming opinions about who to trust with their home.

At Relentless Digital, our social strategy is built on real content from real contractors — not stock photos and generic tips. Our quarterly interview system, combined with real job data and genuine customer reviews, creates a content engine that positions you as the most trusted contractor in your market.

Does social media actually generate leads for contractors?

Social media builds trust, brand recognition, and top-of-mind awareness. When a homeowner’s AC breaks and they search Google, they’re more likely to call the company they’ve been seeing helpful content from. Social also supports other marketing channels — Google’s algorithm considers brand signals. The biggest value is in the trust and authority it builds over time.

Which social media platforms do you manage?

Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Facebook and Instagram are typically the highest priority for residential contractors. YouTube is critical for long-form educational content. TikTok is increasingly valuable for reaching younger homeowners. LinkedIn is relevant for commercial contractors and recruiting. We recommend the right mix based on your business.

What is the quarterly interview system?

Every quarter, we conduct a 90-minute video interview covering 6 primary questions with 4–6 sub-questions each, selected based on keyword research. From that single interview, we extract dozens of content pieces: short-form videos for Reels, TikToks, and Shorts, long-form YouTube videos, blog posts, social captions, email content, and GBP posts. One interview fuels content across every channel for three months.

Where does the rest of the content come from?

Beyond interviews, we pull from two key sources: real job data from your field service management software (completed jobs, before-and-afters, interesting projects) and your best 5-star Google reviews designed into visually engaging social posts. This combination creates a social presence that feels genuine because it is genuine.

How often do you post to my social media accounts?

Multiple times per week across your active platforms. Consistency matters more than volume. Our content calendar is planned quarterly to align with your interview cycle, seasonal campaigns, and business goals. You always have visibility into what’s being posted.

Do you create video content?

Yes — video is central. The quarterly interview produces raw footage we edit into short-form vertical videos (30–60 seconds) for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts, and longer-form videos (3–10 minutes) for YouTube. Video consistently outperforms static posts in engagement and trust-building. Homeowners want to see the real person behind the company.

Do I need to be on TikTok?

You don’t need to be, but there’s a strong case. TikTok is now a legitimate search engine where homeowners look up home improvement questions and discover local businesses. If your interview already produces short clips for Reels, repurposing to TikTok takes minimal effort. We’ll give you an honest recommendation based on your target demographic.

What about paid social media advertising?

Our social service focuses on organic content. For most contractors, paid ad budget is better spent on Google Ads and LSAs, where intent is highest. However, if paid social makes sense for your situation — like promoting a special offer or building awareness in a new market — we can discuss options.

How do you measure social media success?

We track engagement, reach, impressions, follower growth, and website traffic from social channels. We’re also honest about what social can’t directly measure — its impact is often indirect, building trust that makes every other channel perform better. We report transparently and frame results in the context of your overall strategy.

Do you respond to comments and messages on my behalf?

Yes. We monitor your channels and respond to keep engagement high and ensure no potential lead goes unanswered. For complex questions, we flag them for your team. Leaving comments unanswered signals to both the algorithm and potential customers that you’re not paying attention.

How much content comes from one quarterly interview?

A single 90-minute interview produces approximately 6 long-form blog posts, 6 long-form YouTube videos, 18+ short-form video clips, 24+ social media posts, 6 email newsletter topics, and 24+ Google Business Profile posts. Over a full year with four interviews, that’s 100+ pieces of unique content from just 6 total hours of your time.

Can I approve content before it goes live?

Absolutely. We set up an approval workflow so you can review content before it’s published. Most clients review the first few weeks closely, then tell us to run with it. Your brand voice, your values, your reputation — we take that responsibility seriously.
